Independent Prescriber Practice Nurse for GP practice for the homeless

We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and self-reliant person to join our team delivering healthcare to the homeless population of Birmingham. We are based in a specialist GP practice dedicated to the homeless and have well established links to all other agencies involved in the care of the homeless.

The post holder needs to be an RGN with current registration, an independent prescriber and with substantial practice nurse experience. A background in delivering care to the vulnerable, those with addictions, mental health issues and other marginalised groups would be advantageous.

The post holder must possess good communication skills, good organisational skills and excellent liaison skills. An understanding of the impact of homelessness on health and the specific needs of the homeless is desirable.

Knowledge of common clinical recording systems such as EMIS web and competent keyboard skills are essential.

We are a close knit hardworking team and require someone who wants to be a team player and is flexible enough to work under pressure within a sometimes challenging situation to meet the needs of the post.

The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm,however we welcome applications for part time or job share hours.
